In most cases, being the King of New York means you are the best rapper alive, though.

New York City’s five boroughs have produced some of the best poets ever to walk the Earth, so that makes it much harder to choose just 10 rappers from the city to list, but I will attempt the impossible.

The current crop of talent that represents NYC is not stellar, but there are a few artists and groups that people should look out for, like Flatbush Zombies, Kirk Knight, Dave East, and Joey Bada$$.

With some legends not yet retired, the future is very bright for the New York rap scene. But for now, let’s delve into the past to find out who the all-time greats from America’s biggest city are.
